Zarautz beach is the longest in Gipuzkoa, stretching for 2,500 metres, which converts it into a vibrant, multidisciplinary space, made up of diverse scenes and people. Families, surfers and nature-lovers gather together on the sandy beach which is divided into three areas: the western end, frequented by families and bathers; a central area reserved for surfers and the dunes at the eastern end, which form the habitat for numerous species of flora and fauna. The Real Club de Golf of Zarautz, founded in 1916, is located at the foot of the Talaimendi, set in beautiful, natural surroundings, between the sea and the marshland.

The local gastronomy is one of Zarautz’s most significant tourist attractions. This is largely thanks to well-known chefs such as Karlos Argiñano and a long list of restaurants that skilfully prepare all the typical dishes from Zarautz: squid cooked in its ink and Pelayo style, hake with parsley and wine sauce, grilled sardines and sea bream, spider crab (txangurro), etc.
