Harvest season for Txakoli

We are entering autumn and it is now at the end of September when the harvest begins, the time to collect the grapes, because the clusters begin to reach the optimal moment of ripening. Once the harvest is finished and after its preparation, the new wine will be able to be tasted within a few months.

In 1924, Jaime Egaña ordered the construction of this residence known in the town as the ‘Etxe haundi’ or ‘Big House’, due to its exceptional height. The hotel opened its doors in the 40s and, as a curiosity, its elevator was the first to be installed in Zarautz’.
